OBJECTIVE
The Shop Coordinator provides overall support for repair and reconditioning work for both our external and internal customers. Key areas include: Provide quotations to our sales force, prioritize and coordinate repairs, overall management / administration of each repair order, continually seek ways to improve repair processes and techniques. The Shop Coordinator contacts customers to discuss repairs, quote repairs, follow up discussions after repairs, and assists in order entry and invoicing as needed.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION (outline job duties and responsibilities):
Prioritize and coordinate the overall flow of repair and reconditioning projects with Team Leaders and Management, focusing on improving utilization and throughput Maintain production schedules and assist with regularly scheduled production meetings Research customer equipment in proprietary systems to confirm accuracy of parts and lead time Create job packets for repair and reconditioning projects with applicable drawings, quality plans and checklists, scan sheets, and EHS related documentation Create and formalize repair quotes to end customers and internal Sales teams Review of shop quotes before pricing and finalization Perform tasks within proprietary applications in MRP and Lotus Notes systems (order parts and expedite as needed, create PO's for outsource operations, occasionally schedule freight, etc.) Interact and communicate repair information to shop, end customers, and sales personnel Assist Service Center team to meet published baseline measurements and KPI's Manage job costs: Assures selling price and costs are in line to maintain acceptable margins Act as primary backup for Order Coordinator as needed Maintain applicable inventory reports, records, and proprietary software. Coordinate and assist in the completion and documentation of all ACT warranty claims Positive participation in meetings, ALPS and improvement initiatives Perform other duties as directed by Management
ORGANIZATIONAL COMPONENTS
The Shop Coordinator reports directly to the Service Center Manager and/or Coordinator Team Lead and may indirectly receive direction from other Managers and Directors. Functions with minimal supervision to quote repair pricing, negotiate with internal and external customers, and work with Team Leaders to coordinate the flow of production, meet KPI's, and improve every customer experience.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION DESIRED
High School or GED equivalent
Five years hands-on experience with repairing/reconditioning in a manufacturing, job shop or customer service environment desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes Desired in Candidate:
Ability to read and work from blueprints
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Strong communication and respectful interpersonal skills both written and verbal
Demonstrate ability to perform effectively within a team environment
Some understanding of machining and welding techniques
Ability to work within stressful situations
Fundamental knowledge of standard word processing software and spreadsheets
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
May have occasion to move parts up to 50 lbs.
Main job is in an office environment with approximately 25% of the time in a machine shop & welding environment where there is the possibility of coming into contact with residues of customers' products.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Some travel within the USA to visit customers or other Service Centers; meetings; training.
Occasional requirements to travel outside of the USA to visit customers; training; meetings.
