    POSITION PURPOSE:


    Assures the manufacturing processes and all machinery in the SMT Department are capable of meeting or exceeding customer delivery requirements.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Programs SMT assembly equipment for production of jobs.


    Monitors departmental processes to assure maximum efficiency and resolves technical issues.


    Creates, edits and maintains all documentation.


    Makes process improvement recommendations to improve production.


    Assures that all SMT assembly equipment is properly maintained.


    Assures that the SMT assembly department is in compliance with the Company's Quality System.


    Works with other departments to expedite or resolve problems to ensure customer product delivery dates are met.


    Participates in internal and external quality system audits as needed.


    Participates in or coordinates committee activities.


    Maintains an organized and neat work area.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum: 3 years experience in the Engineering Department including programming equipment of an electronic contract manufacturing company.



    Preferred: 3-5 years experience as an Engineering Tech or in the Engineering or Quality Department, including programming equipment, of an electronic manufacturing company or equivalent experience.


    Engineering degree preferably in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.


    JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of hand and SMT assembly methods for electronic PCB.


    Excellent PCB assembly techniques.


    Strong organizational skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability.


    Knowledge ofIPC-A-610 Solderability Standards. IPC-A-610 certification a plus.


    Demonstrated

    effective

    analysis

    and corrective action implementation techniques.


    Leadership and supervisory experience necessary.


    Proficient user of windows-based computer programs.


    Able to identify electronic components.


    Able to read complicated electronic assembly drawings.


    Panasonic equipment knowledge is a plus.


    Able to speak, read, write, and understand English as it relates to performing job requirements
