    Materials Engineer

    Materials Analyst Responsibilities and Requirements:

    • Associates' degree in a technical discipline plus 3 or more years' experience.
    • Required - Level 2 certification in Eddy previously held within last 1 year with surface and semi-automated bolt-hole.
    • Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications.
    • Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations.
    • Proposes, develops and validates revisions to procedures and specifications.
    • Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers.
    • Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts and technology.
    • Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers.
    • Preferred - Level 2 certification previously held within the last one year in Ultrasound with Shear Wave is preferred.

    Materials Engineer Responsibilities and Requirements:

    • Bachelors' degree in a STEM discipline plus 5 or more years' experience.
    • Experience with Computed Tomography is required for this position.
    • 5+ years of engineering experience in the field of Nondestructive Test is required.
    • Works independently (level of independence required determined by experience of the candidate) with the direction/mentorship of Principal/Senior Nondestructive Evaluation engineers to develop, certify, qualify, and implement Nondestructive Evaluation technologies across the enterprise.
    • Defines requirements and approves tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of products.
    • Produces specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes.
    • Maintains compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations.
    • Promotes standardization across business activities. Evaluates emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.
    • Develops and qualifies new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements.
    • Integrates new technologies as appropriate.
    • Manages test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
    • Conducts analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of tools, materials, parts or processes.
    • Implements corrective and preventive actions. Designs, develops and qualifies computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements.
    • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
    • Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.
    Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
