    Job Title: Research Assistant

    This is a fixed one-year term renewable based on performance, business need and available funding. The position requires fluency in Spanish.


    The Research Assistant supports the research team by recruiting, collecting and organizing data, and maintaining accurate records. Key responsibilities include:


    • Recruitment and Primary Contact for Study Participants - Reviews health information from participants' electronic health records to screen for eligibility, screens and recruits study participants, conducts informed consent process with eligible research participants, schedules and confirms all study visits with participants.

    • Data Collection and Quality Control - Conducts home study visits, participant interviews, measurements; collects clinical data and samples including lung function tests blood samples allergy tests nasal samples height weight environmental air quality vacuumed dust airborne dust using software such as RedCap Excel project specific websites other software databases.

    • Study Materials Protocol Compliance - Develops provides participant education material notifications standard operating procedures monitors compliance safety ethical standards prepares tracks sample results notifications assist designs manuals tracking retention time.">

    The position involves administrative support including preparing weekly activity reports managing correspondence assisting orders supplies inventories monitoring website inquiries resolving issues equipment maintenance calibrating troubleshooting technical issues training undergraduate students interns staff related duties assigned office conditions biohazards repetitive keyboard field work necessary knowledge skills abilities demonstrated organizational excellent written oral interpersonal communication discuss personal topics compassionately sensitive manner understanding HIPAA requirements detail orientation problem-solving proficiency Microsoft Excel Word willingness learn technologies necessary strong interpersonal approachable engaging demeanor builds rapport communicates broad populations individual settings required qualifications Bachelor's degree fluent Spanish experience medical scientific research setting comparable organization access car locations campus jobs affirmative action employer equal opportunity employer
