Job Description

We are seeking Respiratory Therapists to join our teams across the US. The incumbent provides care of the Veterans' medical needs by performing, the Respiratory Therapist (RT) position will work independently providing a variety of complex respiratory therapy treatments efficiency and effectiveness of the professional staff. Processes refill requests, collates and prepares prescriptions for distribution The incumbent will ensure the most effective delivery of care, while meeting and exceeding compliance, Joint Commission and VA Central Office performance measure standard.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and monitor respiratory equipment, such as invasive and non-invasive ventilators.
The respiratory therapist performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Responsible for operation, routine maintenance, daily calibrations, and quality control of the ABG analyzer.
Function as an in-service educator to any personnel needing knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, pulmonary anatomy, and physiology.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Other duties within scope as assigned.

Experience Required:

Must have current license/certification.

Education Required:

Successful completion of a 2-year accredited course study leading to an associate degree in respiratory therapy
DEA License
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Dental Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Current BLS certification. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
Must relocate to project site for the duration of the contract.
Pass a Child abuse and neglect check.
Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance
