- The Department of General Services, Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a Principal Scientist in the Immunology/Virology (IV) laboratory.
- The Principal Scientist will oversee and execute a variety of serological methodologies for identification of antibodies to infectious agents as well as virus isolation and identification of viral antigens, including influenza and rabies viruses.
- Testing methodologies include virus isolation and antigen identification by direct and indirect fluorescence antibody (DFA & IFA) assays.
- Serological assays include Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISAs), Microsphere Immunoassays (MIAs), agglutination assays and other Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) techniques.
- This Principal Scientist position will be required to provide technical supervision, QA guidance and training to staff.
- Beaches, mountains, Colonial Williamsburg, and Washington D.C. are less than a two-hour drive.
- Experience working in an immunology or virology laboratory.
