    Job Description

    The Security Sr. Manager – Armed Training is responsible for creating, organizing, maintaining, and implementing all aspects of the Wynn / Encore Las Vegas armed training, tactics, and development program. This individual will schedule all training programs associated with firearms, defensive tactics and use of force, in accordance with the department's approved course curriculum and lesson plans.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    In coordination with the Executive Director of Security and the Assistant Director of Security Administration, the Sr. Manager – Armed Training will oversee the training and development of all armed Security personnel at the Wynn / Encore Las Vegas. This will include oversight, management and implementation of all Security Training academies, firearms qualification process, in-service sustainment training, compliance training, and all other authorized Security training programs.

    Provide group and one-on-one instruction to armed personnel, as well as potential new-hire applicants, in the areas of firearm safety and marksmanship, defensive tactics, and use of force in accordance with authorized company policies and standards.

    Develop and analyze course content through advanced knowledge in law enforcement or military concepts such as: emergency response, marksmanship, firearms safety, defensive tactics, tactical firearm response concepts, use of force, and de-escalation techniques.

    In collaboration with the Crisis Management & Response team, develop and implement scenarios and reality-based training programs to ensure response readiness to critical incidents.

    Evaluate armed personnel skills and proficiency, maintain accurate training records (written and/or electronic), identify remedial needs, and document administrative activities required by company policy.

    Coordinate and conduct firearm qualification sessions and consult in armed personnel selection processes in collaboration with Security Special Operations Management and conduct quarterly firearm qualification sessions to verify armed personnel skill level and proficiency.

    Assist other department employees with instruction in all Security, Special Operations Guard, Security Access Control Officer, and Bike Officer Bike academies.

    Assist with management of department's Field Training Officer (FTO) program for armed and unarmed personnel.

    Ensure all Security training programs are conducted within Wynn Learning & Development policies and guidelines.

    Research, analyze, and recommend professional development activities to maintain industry knowledge of current technology, equipment, tactics, and emergency response techniques.

    Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local/federal laws and legal issues pertaining to hotel and casino environments.
  • Armed military or law enforcement experience involving use of force, tactical shooting, tactical movement, defensive tactics, and critical decision making (shoot/don't shoot).
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive technical knowledge of basic and advanced training techniques.
  • Certified instructor in First Aid and CPR is required within 6 months of hire date, and advanced emergency medical instructor certification such as BLS, Stop the Bleed, or similar level of care, within 1 year.
  • Certification as CSRO or RSO is required within 3 months of hire date.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Must have a minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • This is an armed position and a Nevada Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) or a law enforcement HR-218 designation is required at time of hire.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule based on operational demands.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Nevada Gaming License, Alcohol Awareness card, and Nevada driver's license and must be maintained at all times for this position.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience leading in a team environment and ability to effectively communicate a vision across all levels of the department.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or equivalent major/experience.
  • Formal instructor level experience in a military or law enforcement training academy, with specific instruction in weapons, use of force, handcuffing and defensive tactics.
  • Experience as a former SWAT or other tactical response team experience.
  • Prior experience testifying in a court of law.
  • POST level Firearms Instructor Certification (FIC) or equivalent.
  • Certified armorer for Sig Sauer, Glock, and/or H&K firearms.
