    Description

    Exciting and challenging career opportunity for a motivated accounting professional seeking a pivotal leadership role within a dynamic global finance organization. As Controller, you're responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the division's financial reporting processes, ensuring a strong internal control / SOX environment, overseeing complex accounting transactions, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company standards. The Controller also serves as an integral special project team member for integrations, process improvement, and automation initiatives.

    Key areas of ownership:

    • Manage multiple revenue streams, including customer contract reviews, and coordination with technical accounting teams for ASC 606 compliance analysis
    • Oversee accounting close and reporting process including coordination with corporate controlling to ensure effectiveness of financial controls for corporate governance and SOX compliance
    • Lead and manage team by fostering an open environment, aligned direction, prioritization, and empowerment
    • Manage accounting issues and communicate effectively and timely
    • Support interpretation/accounting of complex contractual agreements
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements
    • Lead or support various ad hoc projects/initiatives
    • Support interpretation of internal policy and U.S. GAAP accounting standards
    • Conduct balance sheet reviews
    • Ensure effective financial controls and oversee compliance with SOX requirements
    • Support internal/external financial reviews and audits
    • Drive and support positive change management and process improvements within the accounting function

    Education/Experience/Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA preferred
    • 10+ years progressive corporate accounting experience including staff supervisory and development experience, and cross functional project leadership
    • Strong technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, revenue recognition, reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of accounting position papers. Must be able to research and interpret accounting guidance and draft accounting memos to support conclusions.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
    • Strong organizational skills enabling simultaneous management of multiple projects
    • Highly motivated, results-oriented with ability to take initiative in a diverse organization
    • Sound judgement and business acumen
    • Candidates must be able to work on-site 3x per week in Bloomington, IN
