Job Summary:
The Retail (Cafe) Manager will successfully lead the retail food service operation (a cafe, bistro, coffee shop, and minimal catering) at a 400+bed hospital in downtown Birmingham.
Our Retail and Culinary team work closely together to provide excellent food quality, customer service and innovative ideas. Responsible for leading a team of a Supervisor and 20 hourly team members.Anticipated schedule:
Monday- Friday 7:30am-5:30pm on average, depending on business needs, and rotating every 3rd weekend (when working a weekend, you will have 2 days off during the week)
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and supervision of special functions, maintaining cash controls, payroll records, and the hiring and training of our hourly team membersApproximate: 50% retail marketing and service standards, 30% staffing/employee engagement, 20% POS reports/sales reporting/retail planningEnsures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient uses of resourcesDirects staff to provide scheduled retail services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standardsTrains staff in customer service, accurate portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitationCompletes all daily, weekly or monthly reports on a timely basis meeting all prescribed municates effectively with all team members, patients and familiesImplements and maintains cash handling standards as outlined in the Corporate Policies and Procedures Manual to eliminate theft of services or Company funds
Preferred Qualifications:
B.S. or equivalent experience Degree in Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus three years of directly related experience preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in food service/retail/catering industryGood knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentationPrefer previous experience in high volume retailExperience with cash retail operationsRetail marketing experiences are highly desirableSupervisory, leadership, management and coaching skillsGood interpersonal skills both written and verbalAbility to communicate on various levels to include management, customer and associate levelsKnowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practicesProficient computer skills to include; various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet Apply to TouchPoint todayTouchPoint is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
