    Senior Project Engineer

    to join our team.

    This position is responsible for designing and initiating complex layouts for projects, developing scopes of work, and writing specifications for proposals.

    This role requires a high degree of creativity and latitude.
    The successful candidate will provide effective project management from project inception through construction and installation.

    They will organize design resources, supervise design efforts, generate specifications, coordinate procurement, and align with the company's objectives related to capacity, operability, economics, and timelines.

    Additionally, the engineer will play a key role in selecting approved contractors and determining the optimal systems for specific applications.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Project Management:
    Organize design resources and supervise design efforts.
    Generate project specifications.
    Coordinate procurement activities.
    Ensure project objectives are met regarding capacity, operability, economics, and timelines.

    Technical Expertise:
    Be familiar with OSHA regulations and safety guidelines.
    Provide engineering design for new projects and utility systems.
    Apply knowledge of applicable codes related to Mechanical Engineering standards.

    Project Design and Coordination:
    Coordinate project design work, including planning, design calculations, flow sheets, Mass Balance review, and validation.
    Develop mechanical layouts, piping diagrams, and electrical insulation plans.
    Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.

    Cost Management:
    Maintain current project knowledge regarding costs.
    Assume responsibility for project cost management.
    Consult with accounting personnel on project accounting procedures and costs.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Interact and coordinate project activities with all levels of Operations and Engineering management.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    Proven experience in project management and engineering design.
    Strong knowledge of relevant codes and regulations.
    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    Ability to make informed decisions regarding system selection and installation.

    Additional Requirements:

    Education:
    B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering or project management experience.

    Experience:


    5+ years applicable Engineering or project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in the food industry preferred.


    Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Computer Skills:
    Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling programs. Microsoft exposure preferred.

    Special Skills:
    Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision.
    Demonstrated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget while achieving company objectives.
    Good knowledge of a variety of all Engineering disciplines concepts, practices, and procedures.

    Travel:
    Limited travel. Multi-day stays required; overnight stays required; ability to egress uneven surfaces in construction and plant environments safely and easily.
