    Description:

    MUST HAVE: license or equal, Wastewater experience, Operator skills

    Duties include, but are not limited to:


    • Responsible for performance of the treatment systems with respect to permit equivalencies.


    • Leads troubleshooting and emergency response efforts.


    • Preparation of Discharge Monitoring Report (DMRs) as required.


    • Operates, inspects, adjusts and monitors process equipment, meters, gauges and controls to detect problems/malfunctions and maintain proper level of equipment operation and system performance on air, water, groundwater, wastewater, industrial wastewater and leachate systems.


    • Records operational data, meter and gauge readings on specified forms.


    • Interacts with client organizations, including engineering departments, site managers, and consultants.


    • Trains, directs and coordinates the work of other operations and maintenance staff; may oversee subcontractors and vendors.


    • Collaborate with internal Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Finance teams to successfully manage projects.


    • Responsible for personal safety record; know, understand and comply with all project/site safety requirements.


    • Prepares estimates for materials and labor for O&M projects.


    • Uses computer-based maintenance program as part of workday; prepares basic reports and communications using computer programs; skilled in using Microsoft Word, Excel and email programs.


    • Collects process and groundwater samples for testing or may oversee sample collection process; performs low-flow groundwater sampling; performs sample collection and process control testing and field testing of water, soil and air samples as required.


    • Maintains consistent production quality and work records.


    • Performs preventive maintenance using hand tools, power tools and/or precision equipment in accordance with O&M guidelines and requirements.


    • Adds process chemicals such as potassium permanganate, caustic, acid, chlorine, polymer and coagulant using mixers, pumps and metering devices.


    • Responds to alarms for emergency situations at various facilities/systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:


    • Current Wastewater Operator's License; Industrial, Biological, Physical, or Chemical.


    • Degree in Environmental Science or courses in Wastewater Treatment preferred.


    • Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial WW Operations.


    • Good verbal and written communication skills.


    • Ability to comprehend and follow safety procedures.


    • Able to evaluate physical characteristics of water and waste streams.


    • Perform and interpret laboratory analyses.


    • Ability to evaluate, operate, and troubleshoot process equipment, meters, and gauges.


    • Understanding of major mechanical equipment and able to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on those components.


    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.


    • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra commonly used in wastewater treatment industry.


    • Good working knowledge of physical and chemical treatment processes. Experience with biological systems is preferred.

    Shift will be four (4) twelve (12) hour shifts: 5pm - 5am (most likely will be Wed - Sat (Possible Sat - Tues)
