- Facilitate control wiring diagrams and equipment troubleshooting
- Designs and implements major changes to HMIs and PLC ladder logic
- Sources, installs, and calibrates instrumentation to support plant operations
- Designs and implements computer programs to facilitate the flow of business information throughout the plant
- Coordinates and oversees outside contractors to support capital projects as necessary
- Responsible for all general mechanical duties in support of plant operations and capital projects
- Troubleshoots plant PLC equipment; resolves problems through ladder logic changes; troubleshoots plant HMIs (Wonderware, RSView) and resolves problems through programming changes
- Troubleshoots electrical control and power wiring; resolves problems through wiring changes
- Oversees capital projects and outside contractors primarily in the electrical control and power wiring areas
- Develops and implements new electrical controls and systems
- Works with other plant employees and management to enhance Springfield's electrical / electronic systems
- Works with AutoCAD and other computer programs to update documentation and electrical prints
- Uses various personnel and LAN computer programs in the completion of assignments
- Capable of performing general mechanical duties
- Conducts training for maintenance personnel and equipment operators
- High school diploma or equivalency is required, additional recent technical training preferred
- Must have at least three (3) years manufacturing maintenance experience
- Experience with industrial electrical controls
- Knowledge of PLC programming
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Must be very detail oriented and have strong interpersonal, communication and team based skills
- Being a self-starter as well as a problem-solver are required assets
- Be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift – hours can vary
