    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The registered nurse is responsible for coordinating the nursing care of assigned patients in the Unit, providing quality patient care to patients in applicable age-specific populations. The RN applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development, exercises independent judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy.
    • Practices cost-efficiency and performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards.
    • Utilizes specialized knowledge and skill to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care.
    • Maintains the standards of nursing care and implements hospital policies and procedures.
    • Assesses patient condition and nursing needs, provides and directs nursing care, and reports pertinent observations and reactions of patients.
    • Provides patient and/or family education or training based on assessed needs.

    Requirements

    • Associate degree, bachelors preferred.
    • One or more years recent clinical experience as a RN preferred.
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
    • Registered Nurse.
