The selected candidate will work on a team developing a series of applications that are certified, trusted sources of critical mission data that will be used to answer mission and leadership questions across the enterprise.
They will support UX, middleware and backend (database) development efforts by coordinating with the developers to define the best technical design to meet the requirements and then implementing that plan.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment, collaborating with developers and having frequent interaction with customers.
This position will require working in an agile environment on a fast-paced team and a willingness to take on challenges to creatively solve customer requirement problem sets.
The individual is expected to be a self-starter and willing to work with limited technical direction.Key Technoloiges:
Desired Skills
Familiarity with AWS RDS
Familiarity with database administrative tasks such as backups, database migrations and cloning and restoring (preferably using AWS RDS)
Knowledge of PL/SQL
Familiarity with SQL Developer session/sql monitoring tools
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite
Experience working with Git for configuration management
Experience working with the JSON format
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree and five (5) years' experience as a Database Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
Experience designing, building, and maintaining a database from simple requirements
Experience creating database triggers, procedures, and functions
Oracle SQL experience and knowledge in areas such as creating tables, SQL queries using unions, joins (inner/outer), complex queries and views
Data modeling experience
Familiarity with Oracle Row Level Security
Experience with data ETL"
Optional Skills:
Support the database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis activities.
Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts.
Support the development of long and short-term requirements for database administration and design.
Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software.
Translate a set of requirements and data into a usable database schema.
