    Description
    Leidos is seeking a software architect to be the technical lead our newly formed National Security software center.
    The individual will be responsible for driving technical standards for all software development activities. The standards will include development patterns, technology stacks, development processes, and software development metrics. The successful candidate will work with ensure consistent delivery of software across customers. The Chief Architect will also be the focal point for software development related innovations. Experience with software development programs supporting national security customers in a classified setting is required.

    The successful candidate will have a wide range of technical experience to include mission software development, secure software practices, software architecture, SecDevOps, cloud technologies, and software validation.

    This position requires a technical leader can both set a software vision and drive the implementation of that vision into programs and proposals.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Work with the program teams, Line leadership, and CTO organization to identify software related technology and solution roadmaps to establish Leidos as a provider of choice for mission software across the National Security domain.
    • Establish best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches for all aspects of software development.
    • Ensure all software related proposals and programs are following defined software processes and technology standards.
    • Define a set of core software key performance indicators that will be required on all development activities.
    Basic Qualifications

    • Master's degree or Ph.
    D.

    and 15 years of experience in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field - Will consider experience in lieu of the degree requirements.


    • Ability to gain a security clearance for a position of trust within the US government.
    • Recent experience within the National Security domain (Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, FBI, or Department of Defense) with an understanding of those missions and operating environments.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization from program teams to executive leadership.
    • Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.

    Location:
    Washington Metropolitan Area with ability to travel to customer sites across the regionPreferred Qualifications

    • Scaled Agile Development experience.
    • Experience leading independent technical reviews of software programs.
    • Proven leader across the Software Development Lifecycle.
    • Experience implementing solutions for multiple customers

    Pay Range:


    Pay Range $144, $260,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.

    Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
