    Description


    The Student CARE & Outreach Case Manager will provide case management services to students referred to the Dean of Students Office.

    The SCOC will meet directly with students and work to develop a supportive action plan for a case load of students experiencing a wide range of personal concerns; including but not limited to, family emergencies, mental health or medical emergencies/hospitalizations, financial & basic need support, and academic concerns.

    Cases are managed in collaboration with on and off-campus partners with the end goal of creating a long-term success plan by connecting students with appropriate resources.

    PRIMARY DUTIESProvide direct student support to students facing a variety of challenges in the form of case management services, self-advocacy coaching, crisis intervention and follow up.

    Provide outreach and educational opportunities and services as appropriate.

    Collaborate with divisional partners internal and external to the Division of Student Affairs and serve as a standing member of the University CARE Team.

    Provide consultation with faculty, staff, and supporters regarding student challenges, concerns, and hospitalizations.
    Promote holistic development and integrated care to foster student success.
    Serve as a liaison to external resources within the Allendale & Grand Rapids Community.
    Maintain all required documentation of activities within Maxient database system.
    Maintain compliance with reporting requirements under Title IX, the Clery Act, and other applicable regulations.

    Demonstrate commitment to working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations and collaborate with faculty and staff to provide multi-tiered support for students.

    Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDBachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
    Two plus years of case management experience.

    Ability to work effectively with all constituents (students, faculty, administration, community members, parents and supporters).Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and leadership, including the ability to work independently.

    Strong interpersonal skills, including strong oral, written, and listening communication capabilities.
    Ability to lead and facilitate partnerships.
    Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
    Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and be thoughtful of multicultural environment.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in student affairs, social work, psychology, or related field.
    Experience working in higher education environment.
    Experience working with Maxient Database System.
    Experience working in the areas of crisis management, behavior intervention, and community standards in higher education environment.
    Working knowledge of Title IX, FERPA, and other regulations associated with the position.
    Demonstrated success in collaborating with campus wide stake holders.
    WORKING CONDITIONSNormal office environment. Some travel may be required.


    Salary:
    $55,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experienceBenefits:Medical: High deductible plan with HSA or a standard PPO plan available.
