- Provide services for school-aged children with communication disorders that adversely affect children's educational performance.
- Work at various school buildings as assigned.
- Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the districts to which assigned.
- Participate in IEP meetings.
- Provide services for children with difficulties in the areas of language, voice, fluency, and articulation.
- Provide screenings for students with possible speech and language deficits impacting their access to the general curriculum.
- Assess children referred for Special Education evaluation.
- Complete written evaluations with specific goals and objectives for each student identified with speech/language needs.
- Provide direct and consultative services to students identified with speech/language needs.
- Program planning and implementation.
- Collaborate with teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Communicate with parents regarding their children's speech/language program.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants, Graduate students and Clinical Fellowships, as assigned
- Implement services based on the MTSS model.
- Provide education, assistance and monitoring of augmentative communication devices.
- Collect data on students' progress.
- Able to work with students at various grade levels; may need to travel to other schools if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
- Special Service Provider's Colorado Licensure through the Colorado Department of Education
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with administrators, teachers, students and families, and community members.
- Ability to conduct studies, prepare reports and make oral presentations.
- Computer knowledge is required in computer-related subjects, and computer literacy is preferred for other content areas.
- Ability to maintain individual student records and class files.
- Ability to compile statistics for research and reports.
- Ability to discipline students in keeping with school and district procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence recommended
