Job summary
This position is responsible for serving as the primary Registered Nurse delivering care to patients who are admitted to the Family Birth Center.Conducts Maternal-Fetal Assessment and provides nursing support to laboring patients.
This patient population may include low-risk and high-risk pregnancies as well as providing care postpartum and newborns.
The job requires conducting maternal-fetal assessment pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management stabilization of normal newborn at delivery circulates for Cesarean Sections cares for post-surgical patient assists anesthesiologist with insertion of epidural regional anesthesia and provides appropriate interventions mothers with complications supports breastfeeding mothers identifies full-term infants risk complications takes virtual tour SMMC required graduation from accredited school nursing completion Mother/Baby program or new graduate senior practicum L&D Mother/Baby unit nursery current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification quarterly RQI competency certification within six months date hire preferred Bachelor Science Nursing one year related work experience acute care setting previous Mother-Baby experience electronic fetal monitoring NCC American Nurses Credentialing Center certification
