    The starting base rate of pay for the Nursing Station Technician is $22.50. Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay.

    This position will be working 48 hours every two weeks on the day shift, 8 hours shifts and every other weekend.

    Responsibilities/Job Description:

    The Nursing Station Technician in the Pediatric ICU is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.

    In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include:

    • Patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding
    • Maintaining unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests
    • Setting up and maintaining patient rooms
    • Ordering and stocking of supplies
    Qualifications:

    Required

    Experience

    • One year of Pediatric ICU NST experience

    License/Certification/Registration

    • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants are required to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program

    AND ONE or more of the following:

    Successful completion of Fairviews OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program..

    OR

    Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)

    OR

    Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program

    OR

    Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position
