Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's leading private, Liberal Arts University is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional to serve as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach.
The Head Coach is accountable for all phases of growing a competitive lacrosse program which competes in the Southern Athletic Association.
Primary duties include coaching the team, managing the budget, overseeing game day operations including travel arrangements, and effectively recruiting student athletes.
This is a full-time position with an excellent benefit package, including employer paid health insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, tuition waivers and much more.
Salary is commensurate with experience.Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head Coaches' responsibilities include but are not limited to: knowing and abiding by all University, NCAA and Southern Athletic Association rules and regulations; coaching; recruiting; monitoring scholar-athlete academic progress; budgeting; fundraising; and scheduling.
The successful candidate must also provide positive leadership in all aspects of the lacrosse program and must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all internal and external patrons.
Other job duties and responsibilities are to be determined by the Director of Athletics.Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required and a minimum of three years coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. A valid driver's license is also required.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Successful candidate should also be knowledgeable of and committed to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Title IX, and SAA.
The position will require the ability to demonstrate appropriate technical skills during practice and games, the ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Some travel is required.Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position requires work in a normal office environment and on the lacrosse field; typically running, bending, crouching and stooping.; use of tools requiring high dexterity as well as occasional lifting of up to 50lbs; use of office equipment, lacrosse equipment, and alternative work schedule is also required.
