Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverview:
The Purchasing Manager will oversee and direct the activities of the purchasing department that is responsible for procuring the goods and services required by Nationwide Video.
This position will research and qualify vendors who can supply these goods, negotiate prices, and will provide suggestions for process improvement.
The Purchasing Manager will work cross-functionally with multiple departments including Finance, Logistics, Service & Repair, and Case Manufacturing.Essential Functions:

A.
Purchasing related responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, equipment, and CAPEX inventory.
Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
Draft, train, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing processes to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
Oversee process for delivery of purchased materials and services and administer internal system data of purchase timeline milestones.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage their performance.
Resolve grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers and participate in vendor selection and contract negotiations.
Maintain and/or implement purchasing and inventory recordkeeping systems.
Administer the departmental budget and identify areas of potential cost reduction.
Keep current with economic, industrial, and other trends that affect markets and prices.
B.
Interpersonal and managerial responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Hire, train, and manage the Procurement Buyer, and other staff as needed.
Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Establish individual performance goals that align with overall business objectives.
Enforce company Handbook, policies and procedures.
Address inter and intra-departmental complaints and resolve problems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the management of the Procurement Buyer.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
Walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continuously during work hours. Is subject to lifting over 10 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Working 45 hours per week Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Nationwide Video days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Travel:
Travel may be required for this position as mandated by the needs of the multiple Nationwide locations which may include out-of-area and overnight travel.
2-5 years of hands-on purchasing experience
Minimum of 3 years of purchasing contract and negotiation experience
Bachelor's degree in related field
Preferred Education and Experience:
5+ years of hands-on purchasing experience
3+ years of purchase contract and negotiation experience
1+ years of supervisory or management experience
1+ years of A/V industry experience
Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management
