By joining our Division of Equipment, Technician Section as a Transportation Auto/Truck Technician Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to assist technicians by performing routine work in the repair and maintenance of automotive, medium, and/or heavy equipment and learn to properly use related tools and equipment.

Holders of this Job Title will complete tasks such as:

• Assists with all daily operations of a Transportation Cabinet Equipment Repair Garage.
• Assist Technicians with the maintenance and repair of automotive, medium, and/or heavy (off road) equipment.
• Assist the garage staff with the opening/completing repair orders.
• Assist with repair facility organization and provide equipment care as requested.

Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:

• Knowledge of Parts Inventory.
• Create and Complete Repair Orders.
• Broader repair knowledge of heavy equipment.
• Learn to Operate Non-CDL Equipment.

Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:

• Basic repair knowledge.
• Be capable of communicating and explaining repair/work performed.
• Be capable of identifying and using various hand tools and shop equipment.
• Basic computer skills.

May require stooping, bending, and lifting objects in excess of 50 lbs. Additional travel maybe required if remote repair away from the equipment garage is necessary.
