    General Responsibilities:
    The Compliance Specialist is responsible, at the direction of the Compliance Officer, for

    assisting

    in the implementation and daily operations of the Compliance Program which supports

    Thundermist

    Health Center's (THC) commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.


    Qualifications:

    Required

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor of Science in Health,

    Business,

    or related field
    3 to 5 years of related experience
    Familiarity with healthcare compliance
    Excellent oral and written communication skills
    Able to work independently and collaboratively
    Preferred

    Qualifications:

    Project Management experience or training

    .

    Significant Job Functions:
    Develop,

    implement,

    and revise policies and procedures to

    comply with

    all applicable regulatory requirements

    .

    Ensure policies and procedures are communicated to staff and posted to the corporate intranet

    .

    Maintain a calendar for policy and procedures to ensure

    timely

    review and update to ensure continued compliance.
    Develop,

    coordinate,

    and deliver training to employees, volunteers, interns, contractors and others on THC's compliance program, policies, and other issues as

    identified

    .
    Develop,

    implement,

    and manage THC's compliance auditing plan.
    Administer THC event reporting database, ensuring

    appropriate root

    cause analysis and aggregated reporting of trends and issues at monthly Quality Improvement Committee meeting

    .

    Conduct compliance investigations under the direction of the Compliance Officer.
    Review current and proposed THC programs, activities, partnerships, services, relationships, etc. to identify and mitigate compliance risks including, but not limited to, OSHA and HIPAA regulations and NCQA accreditation.
    Collaborate with other leaders to improve processes to mitigate or

    eliminate

    risks in Clinical Operations, Practice Management and Billing, Human

    Resources,

    and Information Technology departments.
    Monitor,

    track

    and report all new and ongoing THC compliance activities.
    Research and provide informed, referenced guidance to address compliance questions and concerns.
    Manage database of THC contracts to ensure

    timely

    renewal, inclusion of required language for HIPAA, HRSA and other federal and state requirements (including BAA's), management of required deliverables,

    monitoring

    of service levels,

    etc

    .
    Work

    with THC leader responsible for each contract to ensure

    appropriate standards

    are met.
    As required, provide reporting to THC Board of Directors on compliance and risk management activities

    .
    Other duties as assigned.

    Physical Effort/ Environment:
    This is a hybrid position, allowing duties to be performed from home or at a

    Thundermist

    site.
    Able to sit, stand, and walk for

    long periods

    of time.

    Work Schedule Demands:
    Full time

    position requiring regular business hours; some overtime and weekends may also be necessary.
