    • Location: Weed Army Community Hospital, Fort Irwin, CA
    • Schedule: Normal 12-hour shifts are from and 1845 to 0715 to include weekends and federal holiday shifts. There is a potential to work an 8-hour shift based on the needs of the clinic and WACH. Normal 8-hour shifts are from , , , and but may fluctuate depending on the needs of the facility
    • Base Rate (Including Health & Welfare Rate): $61.77/hr (Shift differentials applicable for nights and weekends)

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Degree: BSN or approved AND
    • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program and accredited community college, junior college, college, university approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Experience: One year of registered nurse experience after graduation in the required specialty requested. Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a registered nurse (RN).
    • Certification: Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as needed per specialty request. The American Heart Association or American Red Cross are the only accepted Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers accepted. Failure to comply with this will result in non-compliance.
    • Authorization to Work in the United States: HCWs performing under this contract must be a U.S. Citizen

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Prepare examination rooms prior to patient's arrival.
    • Initiate, perform and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
    • Assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
    • Check patient's vital signs, to include temperature, respiration, pulse, weight and blood pressure.
    • Obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies and vital signs on the correct form.
    • Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and/or specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient's condition before, during, and following the procedure.
    • Maintain examination room stock levels and perform routine maintenance of examination rooms.
    • Complete lab and x-ray requisitions in accordance with clinic policies.
    • Enter demographic data into the computer upon patient check-in; enter diagnosis and departing time when patient is released.
    • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
    • Perform physical exam and health histories.
    • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
    • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
    • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations, seek assistance of the MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.
    • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
    • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
    • Perform nursing services identified in the TO.
    • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

    Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract will be at at the Weed Army Community Hospital (WACH) Mother Baby Unit assigned MTF. HCWs shall receive notification two weeks prior to the reassignment to another location with a 40-mile commuting radius of their assigned MTF.

    Schedule Abilities: The work schedule for each labor category is as follows: The facility operates on a 24-hour day, 365 days a year schedule. Nurses will work an average of 80-hour in two weeks of work. Shifts will include an unpaid lunch period.
