    The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit at BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to lead the Command and Data Handling subsystem team.

    About the Role

    This technical role will be responsible for delivering a C&DHSubsystem that meets program technical, cost, and schedule requirements. As the subsystem lead, you will work closely with the larger CDH team on technical definition, implementation, and verification.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Establish strong working relationships within the CDH team and with system engineering, integration and test teams, and peers from other spacecraft subsystems.
    • Serve as the Command and Data Handling subsystem lead on Civil Space and National Defense bus programs.
    • Support the definition and maintenance of the subsystem architecture and interfaces.
    • Generate verification and validation plans, and work with Integration and Test teams to ensure the subsystem meets requirements.
    • Prepare and give presentations to peers, customers, and management.

    The ESA Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers' missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning, and strong execution.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    • A BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, plus 12 or more years of related experience.
    • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics or avionics subsystem design or test, or a related field.
    • An understanding of requirements definition, decomposition, and flow-down, circuit design, interface definition, hardware specifications, interface control, analyses, and verification.
    • Experience developing and delivering space qualified hardware.

    About the Salary

    The estimated salary range for this position is $154,000-$194,500 per year, depending on qualifications and location. At BAE Systems, we support our employees in all aspects of their life, including their health and financial well-being.
