    Position Title:Consultant, Unified Leadership

    Location:Remote

    Project Manager:Manager, Workplace Readiness and Inclusion

    Date:February 2024-December 2024

    The Consultant, Unified Leadership will deliver Unified Leadership sessions, as developed by SOI HQ, to external partners.

    Rate and Hours:

    The consultant will be paid per session delivered. The rate will be agreed with consultants in writing upon application. The number of hours requested will depend on the number of sessions booked each month. There is no guarantee regarding the number of sessions or amount of compensation consultant will receive and services from consultant may be terminated at any time for any or no reason.

    Content of Unified Leadership Sessions:

    Session content shall be provided by SOI. Consultant shall be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the content are addressed appropriately.

    Primary responsibilities will include:

    Handle all aspects of delivering a Unified Leadership session. This includes:
    • Receive a session date from the Manager, Workplace Readiness and Inclusion.
    • Make any needed updates to pre-work and internal marketing materials based on any specification needed for the audience for a particular training. Send to the Manager, Workplace Readiness and Inclusion.
    • Select co-facilitators with intellectual disabilities and panelists with intellectual disabilities (for "Unified Leadership: Warm-up" sessions only) to deliver the session alongside the consultant.
    • Work with the co-facilitators with intellectual disabilities (and panelists if needed) to craft their individual speaking parts where needed in the script for the session.
    • Practice the session with co-facilitators with intellectual disabilities at least once before the session.
    • Deliver a high-quality session that meets the required elements of each Unified Leadership session.
    • Appropriately answer questions from participants live in the session about related topics or situations in workplace inclusion.
    • Maintain Special Olympics' scope of practice with Unified Leadership. Do not provide advice that goes far beyond Special Olympics' scope of practice (for example, offering specific financial advice relevant to the hiring of people with intellectual disabilities).
    • Make any needed updates to follow-up materials based on any specification needed for the audience for a particular training. Send to the Manager, Workplace Readiness and Inclusion.
    • Be available for sessions that occur in different time zones of the globe.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Experience working alongside people with intellectual disabilities.
    • Knowledge of the inclusive workplace landscape, ability to field questions about how to demonstrate inclusion towards people with intellectual disabilities and make a workplace more inclusive of people with intellectual disabilities.
    • Respect for Special Olympics' scope of practice in workplace inclusion. Possess an ability to operate within that scope, even though it may not be exhaustive of the workplace inclusion landscape.
    • Ability to work with people from different cultures and geographies.
    • Experience facilitating presentations.
    • Experience representing organizations while performing tasks successfully in high-profile situations.
    • Relationship building and stewardship skills and experience.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of virtual delivery platforms, like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office technologies like Word and PowerPoint.
