    This position is responsible for management and operational functions of the Division at the facility assigned. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules of the RTD Drug and Alcohol Policy.

    Duties & Responsibilities:
    ESSENTIAL:

  • Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibilities.
  • Directs the implementation of work plans, projects, schedules, budgets and work force utilization to meet the goals of the Department.
  • Coordinates with contracted services to maximize team efforts, improve consistency and assure professional quality of services to all external and internal customers.
  • Councils with Legal, Human Resources and Labor Relations regarding employee relations issues, policies and procedures and ensures adherence to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Applies the provisions of the Labor Agreement in accordance with organizational guidelines and participates in the grievance procedures for division related issues. Reviews and recommends disciplinary actions which involve termination of represented employees.
  • Directs the investigation into accidents, incidents, assaults and customer complaints. This includes special attention to public ADA and civil rights matters.
  • Monitors the organization's substance abuse program within the division. Investigates non-compliance testing situations and directs appropriate disciplinary action.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in business with a concentration in management, transportation or other related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience supervising in a transportation field under a union contract involving processing grievances and interpreting and implementing labor agreements.
  • Knowledge of management tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of operating policies and procedures including application of a seniority system, sick leave policy, workers compensation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ADA, FMLA and other related personnel policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.

    $100, - $141, Annual
