    Position Title: Registered Behavior Technician Assistant, Special Education (2 openings)

    Assignment Location: Concord Education Center in Inver Grove Heights, MN positions available in the Students with Unique Needs (SUN) Program

    Hours per Day: 7.5

    Schedule: 7:30a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, following school calendar as assigned

    Starting At: Starting pay rate: $23.72 / hour per the Paraprofessional (Program Assistant) Contract

    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Performs human support work implementing, collecting data on, and monitoring the behavior support plans as directed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, providing support using behavior management techniques and intervention strategies to reduce behaviors that interfere with the learning process, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Assistant Director/Principal of Special Education.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Supports the implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans through modeling and coaching.
    • Provides crisis support as needed.
    • Oversees behavioral data collection including maintenance and/or entry of information into data collection system
    • Collects reliability data (i.e., scoring data separate from other staff to look for accuracy of data collection)
    • Monitors data to identify students who need additional support or effectiveness of intervention.
    • Actively participates in meetings and trainings for classrooms the Registered Behavior Technician supports (e.g., team meetings, debrief meetings, trainings on student safety plans).
    • Conducts fidelity checks for interventions.
    • Completes student observations and student-specific data collection methods as needed under the direction of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
    • Maintains Registered Behavior Technician credential by meeting supervision and documentation requirements, following the code of ethics, and meeting annual renewal requirements.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. General knowledge of applicable district policies, practices and procedures;
    2. General knowledge of Positive Behavior Support Plans, Restrictive Procedure reports, observation notes, and Data Collection
      Sheets;
    3. General knowledge of behavioral data, behavioral charts, Restrictive Procedure reports, and Fidelity Checks;
    4. Skill operating standard office equipment and applicable hardware and software;
    5. General skill operating standard database systems;
    6. General skill in the use of Safety Apparel (protective sleeves,hats, pads); general skill in accounting software and spreadsheets;
    7. Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals;
    8. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages;
    9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with building leadership,supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst, teachers, paraprofessionals, parents and the general
      public.
    10. Obtain Registered Behavior Technician Certification within 6 months of hire.
    11. Obtain Professional Crisis Management Certification within 6 months of hire.
    12. Obtain 40-hour Behavior Technician, Professional Crisis Management, and Nurtured Heart Approach training within 6 months of hire.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds weight and up to adult-size body weight with two-to-three-person lift.
    2. Ability to support a student's full body weight up to adult size.
    3. Frequently requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, leaning, and repetitive motions.
    4. Occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
    5. Ability to tolerate sudden jarring movement.
    6. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may require wearing of personal protective equipment.
    7. Locations are generally moderately noisy.

Our programs are located in more than 20 sites throughout the south metro, including Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) where our district office is located.
