    Overview:
    Program Specialists are responsible for putting on safe, fun, and intentional programs during the day.

    Program Specialists assist Cabin Counselors to care for campers in the cabins ensuring that the space is clean and safe, campers are clean and healthy, and managing the social dynamic within the campers.


    Specific Duties:
    Program Specialist Specific Tasks
    Implement safe, intentional, fun activities planned in advance to facilitate daily

    Create a curriculum that teaches campers about outdoor living skills such as: map & compass reading, knot tying, first aid safety, environmental hazards, basic ecology, planning a trip, proper outdoor food prep and storage, etc.

    Ensure that program areas are safe, clean, and usable
    Facilitate activities with plan B's to account for mishaps, weather, and supply issues
    Communicate with the Camp Director supply needs in a timely manner
    Report facility issues to the Property Manager in a timely manner

    When not working in the program area, be with the assigned cabin assisting Cabin Staff in ensuring that campers are safe, supervised, and well cared for.

    General Camp Tasks
    Follow all camp rules and ensure that staff and campers are as well
    Abide by Personnel Policies & Procedures of the ULBGC Camp
    Follow all State of Wisconsin, American Camp Association, and other certifying body guidelines
    Trainings and meetings
    Attend staff training before camp starts
    Attend meetings before each session starts
    Work with supervisors to plan skills to improve on while working at camp
    Supervisory
    Ensure that campers are always appropriately supervised in their activities and are always accounted for according to cabin lists and activity signups
    Communicate with staff in activities regarding their expectations while in programs
    Report any program concerns to direct supervisor with the intention to improve the camper experience
    Live in cabins and support Cabin Counselors by ensuring that campers are on time for meals, activities, and bed
    Provide relief for Cabin Counselors during scheduled time off
    Ensure that all campers are welcome to participate in activities safely

    Manage camper behaviors and give them the tools to be able to participate in camp safely while hopefully making friends and learning new physical, social, and emotional skills.

    Complete paperwork such as incident reports, grant reporting, and more as assigned by camp leadership and the office manager
    Report facility issues to the Property Manager in a timely manner
    Complete other tasks as assigned


    Requirements:

    Requirements:
    Must be at least 18 years old
    Passion to provide a positive camp experience to everyone who comes to camp
    Organized and detail oriented
    Great communication skills
    Good follow through on tasks
    Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred

    Nurse:
    must hold Wisconsin Nursing license or be able to attain it.

    Cook:
    must hold Serve Safe Manager certificate or be able to attain it.
