- Drafting and Design:
- Create detailed drawings and plans for civil engineering projects including roads, highways, water and wastewater systems, land development, and site layouts using CAD software.
- Develop plans, sections, and details from sketches and conceptual design drawings.
- Prepare topographic and contour maps from survey data.
- Plan Preparation:
- Prepare layout drawings and schematics for construction projects.
- Generate detailed drawings for grading, drainage, utility systems, and other civil engineering components.
- Produce as-built drawings that reflect final project specifications.
- Data Management and Analysis:
- Organize and maintain CAD files and project documentation.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate and updated according to project changes and revisions.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare material lists from drawings.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with civil engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Coordinate with other drafters, designers, and team members to ensure consistency and accuracy across drawings.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and deliverables.
- Quality Control:
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project standards and specifications.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in drawings and plans.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all drawings and designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Incorporate comments and revisions from regulatory agencies into final drawings.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare documentation to accompany drawings, including notes, specifications, and other necessary details.
- Compile and submit drawing packages for client review and approval.
- Maintain records of revisions and updates to ensure traceability and accountability.
- Software Proficiency:
- Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D) proficiently to create and modify drawings.
- Stay updated with the latest software developments and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members regarding CAD software and drafting standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving CAD-related issues.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in CAD and civil drafting.
- Contribute to the improvement of drafting standards and processes within the organization.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methods.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Associate's degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Designer at CEDARVILLE Engineering Group, LLC (CEG) located in Pottstown, PA.
