Overview
Do you love coffee? Are you a people person? Do you enjoy interaction with customers? Are you a smiling happy person who likes to work with others? In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced café environment. Your expertise in coffee preparation and your ability to connect with customers will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back. Previous experience not necessary. At this time we are seeking candidates who are available as early as 4:30 am weekdays, and available daytime hours during the weekdays and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items with precision and care.
- Prepare hot food items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, dishes, cleaning equipment.
- Operate the POS systems for order processing and cash handling efficiently.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper food handling procedures during preparation and service.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods while maintaining quality service.
- Have the ability to cross train and learn all operations.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and sales reporting.
Experience
- Previous barista experience or a strong background in the food service industry is preferred, not required.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience using POS systems is a plus.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create positive interactions with customers.
- Basic math skills for cashiering duties and retail math applications related to sales transactions.
