    Job Title: Health & Safety Specialist

    A critical role is available with Absolute Staffing, working alongside our client in Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Health & Safety Specialist.

    About the Job

    This position requires a strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles and practices. The successful candidate will lead investigations and related trainings, ensuring compliance with safety program requirements.

    The Health & Safety Specialist will work closely with various agencies, including the Department of Corrections and the Game Commission. The role involves managing one safety onsite professional, conducting industrial hygiene assessments, and delivering training programs.

    The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). A background in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field is essential, along with at least 5 years of industrial hygiene/occupational safety experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage one safety onsite professional, ensuring they meet agency needs by effectively leading the team and coaching staff as required.
    • Conduct thorough industrial hygiene investigations, develop associated reports, and provide recommendations.
    • Develop and deliver training programs related to industrial hygiene, adapting materials as needed for in-person or webinar delivery.
    • Analyze data and prepare technical reports to identify trends, assist with corrective action, and implement improvements.
    • Provide support for injury/illness prevention, safety, industrial hygiene, and AIPP compliance, working closely with agency safety coordinators.

    Requirements

    • B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
    • At least 5 years of industrial hygiene/occupational safety experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
    • Strong assessment, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Ability to pass PA Department of Corrections background checks for access into Correctional facilities.

    Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

    Location: Pennsylvania, with occasional travel up to 20%, including overnight stays and travel to Harrisburg.
