Description

An MRI technologist is needed to produce quality diagnostic images for the diagnosis and treatment of injury and disease at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame, CA. This ongoing position requires competency in routine and specialized MRI procedures.

Responsibilities:

Perform diagnostic MRI examinations using complex mobile and stationary equipment
Prepare and assist physicians during MRI and guidance imaging for invasive procedures
Explain procedures, medications/contrast media, and associated effects to patients in a clear and professional manner to alleviate fear and anxiety
Mentor students and new technologists to help them gain confidence in their skills
Perform general clerical tasks such as updating patient appointments, electronic health records, and inventory management
Implement protection devices and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to self, staff and patients
Maintain a clean, neat, and safe working environment
Maintain strictest confidence of patient information and protect PHI from accidental disclosure
Perform quality MRI examinations in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
Certification as a Radiologic Technologist and/or MRI Technologist from CRT, ARMRIT, or ARRT (MRI)
BLS certification
5 years of relevant experience
General knowledge of diagnostic MRI principles, procedures, views, and equipment
Well-developed time management and organizational skills
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, RIS, LIS, EHR, EPIC, and PACS
Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
Ability to work independently and accomplish multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions

Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
