- Flexible staffing arrangement for Registered Nurses looking for extra hours, limited to an average of 29 hours per week.
- Providing nursing care within adult institutions using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patients per practice standards.
- Offering services like 24-hour nursing care, telemedicine, medication administration, patient education, and emergency care.
- Documenting information into health records, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating with other departments as needed.
- Ability to delegate tasks and adapt to assigned work hours, days, and locations.
- Ensuring total healthcare provision to offenders from routine to emergency care, ensuring continuity of care.
- Administering medications safely following departmental policy.
- Providing employee health services as per policy guidelines.
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing program.
- Hold a valid unrestricted Virginia RN license issued by the board of nursing or a multi-state compact license.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers by American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire.
- Prior experience in Corrections or Law enforcement settings.
- Experience with mental health patients.
- Background in acute care and/or community health settings.
