- The Medical Billing Associate position is dedicated to the collection of unpaid or unadjudicated physician and non-physician provider claims.
- Works from an assigned queue and is responsible for following up on claims of outstanding balances to determine the process to resolve the balance.
- Collaborates with team members, clinical departments and other internal stakeholders in order to reach departmental goals.
- Communicate payer issues, updates and works the assigned work queue in accordance to the process set by management.
- Turns in batches daily; aiding team members when assigned by the supervisor and any daily tasks associated with the collection of outstanding insurance balances.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment/software related to billing.
- Capability to type 40 wpm and use 10 key by touch in order to process accounts.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Working knowledge of CPT.4; ICD.10 and HCPCS coding
- Experience with HIPAA Guidelines
- Knowledge of multi-specialty billing, third party payers, government payers and their operating procedures and practices
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and Adobe
