    Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a full-time or part-time Pulmonary Function Technologist. Chest Medicine Associates is a medical practice specializing in Pulmonary, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine.

    The Pulmonary Function Technologist performs pulmonary function tests Monday – Friday with no night or weekend shifts.

    Potential for up to $7500 sign-on bonus

    Responsibilities include:

    • Performs pulmonary function tests, including spirometry with bronchodilator, plethysmography, diffusing capacity, methacholine challenge, MVV and respiratory muscle strength measurements, high altitude simulation, exercise oximetry, and 6-minute walk tests.
    • Obtains vital signs and arterial blood gas specimens.
    • Prepares, maintains, and calibrates pulmonary function testing equipment.
    • Supervises PFT Lab.
    • Ensures quality control.
    • Completes preventative maintenance requirements.
    • Follows manufactures instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions; calls for repairs; orders supplies.
    • Documents testing and care in electronic medical record.
    • Maintains patient confidence and protects practice operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree
    • Credentialing by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT or RPFT) is preferred.
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is desirable but not required. If RRT, must obtain RPFT credential within 12 months.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Pulmonary Function Laboratory Policies and Procedures.
    • Comprehensive knowledge in Pulmonary Function Testing.
    • At least 3 years of prior experience performing pulmonary function testing is preferred.
    • Current Basic Life Support certificate
