    About the team

    For this Paraprofessional position, you'll be working for our high school in north Philadelphia called TECH Freire Charter School (9th-12th Grade): TECH Freire reimagines the college prep high school by blending state-of-the-art equipment and hands-on learning with the rigor of the time-tested Freire Schools liberal arts program to help each of our students truly thrive. We have a culture that demands excellence from our students while providing them the supports they need to achieve at high levels and prepare for college. 100% of TECH Freire's Class of 2023 were accepted to at least 63 colleges and universities and earned over $4 million in college scholarships and aid.     What you'll do

    As a paraprofessional, you'll be the day-to-day support for one or more student(s) and ensure they are academically and behaviorally supported throughout their day according to the accommodations of their IEP. You'll also support daily classroom functions whenever needed.

    Responsibilities
    • Provide 1-1 or small group support for students with special needs, providing assistance and accommodations as required by their IEP.
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents; communicate effectively on student needs and accommodations.
    • Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by teachers or school administrators.

    Minimum requirements
    • At least 1 year of previous successful experience working with urban youth
    • Positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get a job done
    • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team

    The hourly rate for this role is $20/hour. This is not a benefits eligible position.
