    Job Description:


    The IT System Administrator (SA) is responsible with the Global team to manage the server infrastructure environment for Kodak Alaris.

    The types of servers include Linux and Windows operating systems supporting many services such as domain controllers, file servers, print servers, database servers, backup servers, web servers, and numerous application servers that are physical and virtual, both on premise and in Azure.

    The servers support applications and services that are both critical and non-critical.

    The role includes all aspects of support, from initial builds, through patching, upgrading, monitoring, troubleshooting, and other ongoing keep-it-running and keep-it-current activities.


    The role requires the participation in some kind of after-hours support and/or on-call rotation, since many systems require 24 x 7 up-time for business use around the world.


    The SA works closely with peer IT colleagues as well as members of the business teams to define all the requirements necessary to meet the business needs.

    The candidate will also be a key contributor on a Global cross-functional team that will research, select, and help implement systems and solutions.


    The role requires a highly motivated individual with strong troubleshooting, technical and communication skills, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with experience in various server technologies and equipment.


    General familiarization with other infrastructure areas such as desktop support, the data network environment, and IT security are also highly desirable, as there is close interaction with these members of the IT team.


    Responsibilities:
    Support all ITIL processes for the server environment (incident, change, asset management, etc.)
    Support systems both locally and remotely (Windows Server OS, Linux (Ubuntu/Rocky), other experience is a plus)
    Create and maintain operational support documentation.
    Follow established procedures to ensure consistency and standardization of the environment
    Assists in client consulting, project execution and management activities
    Perform on call and other support tasks as needed, often outside of normal work hours.

    Skill Requirements:
    Basic hardware support, able to troubleshoot and replace components, place service call and initiate warrantee replacement.

    Must have a proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu/Rocky OS preferred), Windows skills are desired and other OSs are a plus.

    Possess a working knowledge of Linux OS (CentOS/RHEL/Rocky/Ubuntu experience preferred)

    Position Specific Skills:

    Needed:
    Extensive Linux experience in Cent/Rhel/Rocky 7+, and Ubuntu 18+ basic operations, and daily activities.
    LVM (Logical Volume Manager), logical disk management and filesystem structures (ext 4, xfs, rsync, etc)
    Cron
    Load Monitoring and Load Mitigation knowledge (ps, sar, top etc etc)
    Manage services and daemonsservice (service/systemctl systemd/system V operations)
    DNF, APT and package manager experience.
    Knowledge of the logging infrastructure with the Linux OS.
    Local account management knowledge via group, passwd files, and useradd tools. Including sudo, sudoers file, and elevated permissions management.
    SSH security mechanisiums, i.e. preshared keys, etc.
    Ansible/AWX (OSS of Ansible Tower) experience
    Bash scripting, and knowlege of bash shell, profiles, environments, *regular expressions, and other shells.
    Command shell, X windows/graphical infrastructure, and a manager (Gnome, KDE, etc)
    Knowledge of vulnerability mitigation, and ability to work with corporate security practices.
    NFS and Samba experience, and knowledge of automounting mechanisms.
    Hypervisor experience (Hyper-V preferred).


    Desired:
    Windows Server 2019, 2022 primarily (some older versions)
    Experience with Zabbix
    Experience with integrating Linux servers into AD environments (SSSD [replacing QAS]).
    Basic knowledge of or experience with public clouds (Azure preferred)


    Nice to have:
    Quest Authentication Services (QAS) installation / management
    Veeam installation / management
    Linux shell & Powershell coding experience
    General networking experience/troubleshooting
    Experience in server OS licensing, upkeep, renewals, etc.
    Oracle / Database experience
    Apache / web server experience
    Experience with containers (Docker, containerd, etc.)
    Knowledge of Kubernetes / ZFS


    Education/Certifications:
    High School diploma or equivalent
    2 year college degree, or equivalent experience

    Compensation:
    $80,000 - $90,000, based on experience.
