Chief Building Engineer
Van Ness Communities (100 and 150 Van Ness Ave)
RARE OPENING for experienced BUILDING ENGINEER with people management and multifamily high rise residential communities background. We are looking for that diamond in the rough to join our group of leading professionals in the San Francisco High Rise development community.

ABOUT YOU
You already have:
- 3-5+ years of Maintenance Engineering experience for a multifamily, luxury high rise properties of 200+ units.
- Directly supervised staff that includes engineering, housekeeping and porters.
- Proven your ability to maintain high standards of upkeep of properties, buildings, essential building equipment and grounds.
- Familiarity with and ability to operate and diagnose potential problems with essential building equipment logging results and maintaining records being produced to any inspection agencies.
- Perform all of the responsibilities of the role as detailed on the job description with minimal ramp up.
- Familiarity with compliance management, standards and deadlines.

Proven familiarity with and ability to operate and diagnose potential problems with essential building equipment, log results and maintain records to be produced to any inspection agencies, when necessary, for systems not limited to:
- Emergency Generators
- Water Cooling Towers
- Boilers
- VFD Circulating Pumps
- VFD Exhaust Systems
- Heat Exchangers
- BMS Systems
- Life Safety and Fire System Panels
- Emergency Lighting Systems
- Fire Pumps
- Fuel Delivery Systems
- Domestic Water Delivery and Booster Systems
- Ejector Pump Systems
- Pools and Spa Systems
Proven ability to manage and facilitate City, State and Local compliance for the following, but not limited to, these governing agencies:
- BAAQMD
- CERS
- DIR Bay Area Elevator
- OSHA and Cal OSHA
- SFE
- SFFD
- UWMP
Meet and respond to all inspection agencies and maintain compliance with all state and local level requirements on safety and maintenance of equipment and negotiate contracts, submittals and proposals from vendors, architects, and engineers.
Must keep records and schedule all vendors and maintenance activities.
Read plan sets, diagrams and schematics.
Train maintenance staff and ensure completion of all designated projects and assignments within a reasonable time period.
Ensure staff is aware of and adheres to all safety when working with said equipment.
Order basic and essential parts and supplies for building operation.
Schedule minor building functions (turnover cleaning and painting) without interruption of continuous building operations.
Know all emergency vendor contact information and be able to communicate an emergency to the vendor in an appropriate manner resulting in efficient response.
Experience with budgeting.
Must be available to be on call.

This position is located on-site for San Francisco, CA high rise residential buildings
