    We are currently hiring for a Senior Construction Inspector position in the Virginia Beach area.

    Position Summary:

    The Senior Construction Inspector will ensure contractors' compliance by reviewing, interpreting, and enforcing plans and contract documents for efficient and timely inspection of the contractor's work. Key responsibilities include:

    • Planning, coordinating, inspecting, and overseeing project inspection activities for roadway, structure, and bridge maintenance projects.
    • Monitoring contractors and schedules to ensure quality control and contract compliance for moderate to complex construction projects.
    • Applying knowledge and experience towards the inspection of roadways and bridges using VDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Independently plan and coordinate project inspection activities.
    2. Monitor contractors and schedules to ensure quality control and contract compliance.
    3. Apply knowledge and experience towards the inspection of roadways and bridges.
    4. Recommend changes to construction plans to meet field conditions or provide cost savings.
    5. Review and monitor EEO/DBE documentation and compliance with contract documents.
    6. Oversee, direct, and review the work of Inspectors and Inspector Trainees.
    7. Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation.
    8. Complete testing of materials using VDOT testing procedures.
    9. Apply Best Management Practices to environmental inspection activities.
    10. Communicate with various stakeholders, including Localities and VDOT.

    Education, Certifications, and Experience:

    The Senior Construction Inspector qualifications for this role include:

    • 6 years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
    • Current certifications or ability to obtain:
      • ACI-VDOT
      • Soils and Aggregate - VDOT
      • ESC Inspector - DEQ
      • SWM Inspector - DEQ
      • Pavement Marking - VDOT
      • Intermediate Work Zone - VDOT
      • Flagger - VDOT
      • Guardrail Installation (GRIT) - VDOT
      • Asphalt Field Levels I and II - VDOT
      • Slurry Surfacing - VDOT
      • Surface Treatment - VDOT
      • 10-hour OSHA Safety

    Benefits:

    CES Consulting, LLC offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, along with excellent career opportunities for continued professional, educational, and personal growth.
