Apply today for our Registered Nurse Neuro PCU opportunity.The Stroke/Brain unit offers comprehensive, advanced care and treatment to minimize the effects of stroke, helping patients recover their health and functioning, and make the most of their capabilities so patients can get back to their lives Designated by The Joint Commission as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and by the State of Missouri as a Level 1 Time Critical Diagnosis Center of Excellence, Research Medical Center's Stroke Center treats more than 1,200 stroke patients each year from the Kansas City area and surrounding regions.
About this unit:
~ Excellent Teamwork that promotes quality of care, patient safety, and patient satisfaction
~ Increased coordination of care and DC planning with the assistance of neurology, therapies (PT/OT/ST), case management, rehab, and nursing
~16- Bed Unit focused on Comprehensive Stroke Patients
Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Research Medical Center is a 585+ bed hospital. Our hospital offers an array of medical and health clinic services. This includes women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations.
Our specialty care areas include a Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center.
