    Description

    Embedded Software (Firmware) Design Engineer

    Direct Hire Full Time

    Kent, WA Onsite

    $110-145k DOE and Education

    • Ledgent Technology is seeking an Embedded Software (Firmware) Design Engineer to develop, write, troubleshoot, validate, and maintain software and firmware in collaboration with Senior Engineers at a local client in Kent, WA
    • In this position, you will contribute to the design, deployment, and upkeep of valve actuators on various US Navy vessels

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create Software and Firmware for electromechanical valve actuators
    • Engage in system design with Engineering Team
    • Innovate and develop technologies to solve challenges
    • Enhance and update legacy software
    • Participate in Configuration Management, testing, and qualification of software
    • Collaborate in product design within a close-knit Engineering Team

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5 years of embedded software design experience
    • Proficient in C programming Language
    • Understanding of debugging fundamentals and tools
    • Experience with embedded microprocessors
    • Familiarity with communication protocols and microcontroller peripherals
    • Ability to work collaboratively on complex issues
    • US citizenship required for defense contracts
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
    • Strong English reading and writing skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with NXP ARM processor
    • Knowledge of quality and reliability standards
    • Proficiency in fieldbus and fiberoptic communications
    • Background in Windows desktop application development
    • Skills in Configuration Management
    • Understanding of electromechanical actuators and motion control
    • Proficiency in PCB Design
    • Ability to troubleshoot assembly level code and hardware issues
