    Peak Energy is looking for a Systems Modeling Engineer – Energy Storage Systems (ESS) to work at the forefront of the development of our gigawatt scale energy storage systems.

    This role will leverage their expertise to drive major thermal and electrical architectural decisions and also dive deep into key electrical and battery component simulation.

    With a drive for rigorous optimization, meticulous documentation and clear communication of findings, you will work closely with design, test, validation, manufacturing engineering and leadership to navigate our products' development.

    Define system and component design direction and requirements by developing detailed models of energy storage systems across operating modes and external conditions, including battery modules and power electronic components.

    Identify key performance indicators and optimize system design to enhance these metrics.
    Validate models with experimental data and refine them based on test results.
    Interface tightly with design, test, validation and manufacturing engineering partners to inform design decisions
    Drive and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing
    Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related field
    ~Strong electrical and thermal engineering fundamentals
    ~ Extensive use of MATLAB/Simulink or Python
    ~ Familiarity with high voltage battery systems or power electronics
    ~ Hands on prototyping, validation and testing experience
    ~ High voltage battery and power electronics experience
