    JOB TITLE: Production Supervisor – 1st Shift

    REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

    LOCATION: Wausau, WI

    The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of people in the areas of production, scheduling, safety, maintenance, quality and quantity standards.

    KEY RESULT AREAS:

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Lead a team of people in execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling, training, maintenance and continuous improvement.
    • Maintain staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
    • Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; implementing cost reductions; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
    • Monitor visual workplace 5S principles.
    • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to accomplish work results; establish priorities; monitor progress; revise schedules; resolve problems; report results.
    • Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvement.
    • Ensure cleanliness and maintain safe work environment by educating and directing staff on the use of equipment and resources; maintains compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.
    • Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
    • Implement and manage all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree is preferred (Engineering degree is a plus)
    • High School Diploma required
    • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment and 3 years supervisory experience required
    • Lean 6Sigma Certification preferred
    • Continuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing environment is a plus

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • Ability to work well under pressure

    TRAVEL REQUIRED:

    • Up to 5% travel, in support of corporate initiatives

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $60, $70,000.00 per year
