AMECO is seeking a skilled Project Business Analyst II to join our team. This position conducts work directly related to management or general business operations within the organization, requiring advanced knowledge and independent judgment.
The Project Business Analyst II performs basic project accounting activities and assumes responsibility for the maintenance of project-related ledger accounts. This role requires discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance.
This position understands Contract commercial terms, analyzes project activities, and supports invoicing and reconciliation. Responsibilities include setting up project structures and monitoring labor and expense costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the Contract commercial terms.
- Analyze and apply engineering and construction accounting methodologies.
- Participate in the Commercial Alignment Process and Integrated Framework Checklist preparation.
- Set up the project structure in ERP.
- Support and lead invoicing, cost reconciliation, and project close-out activities.
- Interface with internal/external stakeholders and provide independent recommendations for problem-solving.
- Apply discretion and evaluation capabilities.
- Interface with other groups inside and outside the organization, senior management, other locations, clients, and auditors
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity following organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
- Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
- Organize and prioritize tasks effectively, meeting deadlines and complying with company policies.
- Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and Sustainability initiatives.
- May require occasional travel for business-related matters.
- Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in applicable field of study; and two years of experience in project accounting or financial analysis, or
- A combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Previous experience with Vantage/SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computer-based business applications.
- Demonstrated ability as a power user of AMECO's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) applications.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in project management or financial analysis preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Individuals may be required to frequently sit/drive stand, walk, lift/carry, reach, stoop, push/pull, handle/grasp/feel, talk, hear, engage in repetitive motions, and demonstrate eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Close vision is required for this job.
- Employees may be required to occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
Work Environment:
- Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or:
- Occasionally may require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or being exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or hard hats. The noise level in the production/manufacturing areas is usually loud.
- Often required to work at a fast pace to meet deadlines, thus some stress may occur.
- Environmental conditions may include occasional exposure to heat, temperature changes, noise, and humidity.
- Occasionally the performance of this position will require exposure to production/manufacturing areas, which may result in being near moving mechanical parts or being exposed to fumes or airborne particles. These respective areas will require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or hard hats. The noise level in these areas is usually loud.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required for business-related matters.
