    Warehouse Specialist I – Entry Level

    Are you seeking a steady job with dependable weekday hours? An opportunity has opened up for an entry-level warehouse position at the San Antonio State Hospital.

    The Warehouse Specialist I will be under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, Supply Services. Our team operates in multiple facilities across the state, offering room for growth in your career.

    This role focuses on ensuring that the patients/residents receive all necessary daily living supplies through efficient logistical, inventory, and warehouse tasks:

    • Receiving, processing, and storing incoming stock
    • Pulling orders from inventory
    • Delivering goods
    • Maintaining a safe and secure environment

    It's a physically demanding and service-driven position that values energy, passion, integrity, consistent attendance, and personal accountability.

    The entry-level position involves working with moderate supervision and limited scope for independent decision-making.



    Work Schedule:
    Monday – Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

    Essential Job Functions:

    1. Attends work regularly following agency and departmental leave policies and carries out assigned tasks.
    2. Picks and delivers warehouse stock to units and departments either manually or using appropriate lifting equipment, ensuring timely supply delivery.
    3. Receives shipments, inspects items for compliance or damage, and manages inventory using MIMS and CAPPS Financials computer programs.
    4. Enters data accurately, assists in conducting inventories, and fulfills other assigned duties.

    Knowledge Skills Abilities:

    • General warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory control
    • Usage of mechanical lifting devices after training
    • Compliance with warehouse rules, policies, and inventory control guidelines
    • Handling handheld devices for stock management and receiving goods after training
    • Ability to lift heavy objects individually and in a team setting
    • Proficiency in computer applications
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Collaboration within a team and with customers
