SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring that company products meet customers' vacuum welding standards and specifications. Generally capable of working with simple prints, no geometrics and tolerancing; little skill level and setup experience; capable of welding with constant supervision.

Supervisory Responsibilities - None

Duties

1. Working with advanced prints, geometrics and tolerancing; high skill level of penetration, thermal maneuvering and setup experience; welding most metals with little direct supervision.
2. Directly conducts welding of company vacuum products (primarily vacuum chambers).

Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting and pushing/pulling. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.

General Qualifications:

1. Able to read, understand and follow job-routing instructions accurately.
2. Able to test, and verify conformance to standards, using specific testing equipment, and/or by visual examination.
3. Knows how to operate welding equipment in a safe manner.

Education and/or Experience

1. Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school (plus some post high school technical training) or that would provide the required welding knowledge, skills and abilities of this job.
2. Minimum 60 months of general TIG welding experience, plus 24-months specific vacuum welding of stainless-steel chamber or vacuum components.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

Advanced mathematics skills.

Reasoning Ability

Able to work in a faced paced shop, with quickly changing work priorities, and with minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT

WORK ENVIRONMENT

100% welding/shop floor environment; routinely lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required to wear welding protective equipment, such as, welder's eye shields, gloves, aprons, etc. This position requires work in factory setting.
