    Role Overview

    The Welder's main task is to weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    The key duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Plan details of work order procedures; gather necessary tools and materials based on provided instructions and specifications.

    • Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.

    • Interpret blueprints to determine welding specifications.

    • Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not damaged.

    • Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.

    • Maintain and organize equipment and the work area.

    • Identify and report faulty equipment or defective materials.

    • Engage in continuous training and development.

    • Identify opportunities for business improvement within the organization.

    • Enhance product quality by managing materials.

    • Ensure machines are set correctly according to material requirements.

    • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company standards and regulations.

    • Perform daily MIG, and TIG welding operations, and rework welding.

    • Carry out other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Thorough understanding of welding machines, tools, designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.

    • Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools for production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints.

    • Excellent ability to comprehend assignments in various forms.

    • Basic understanding of mathematics relevant to welding tasks.

    • Proven track record as a Welder.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program is necessary.

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment

    • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

    • Must be capable of welding components in various positions.

    • Must possess manual dexterity and stability for precision work.

    • Must have the visual acuity to see details at close range.
