Diesel Garage TechnicianLocation:
Milford, MI (Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift (Choose Your Schedule) - please see below:
Schedule Options (Choose One)
5 days x 8 hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
4 days x 10 hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Mon–Thu OR Tue–Fri
Duration: 1 Year (extension possible or potential to convert)
Travel:
Yes – Travel 3–4 times/year (could be more) across the U.S. (Colorado, Florida, Texas, California) - (Travel is fully expensed)
Pay Rate - Up to $35/hour on W2
About the Role
This position supports the Diesel Garage team. You will perform bumper-to-bumper repairs and troubleshooting on diesel vehicles.
Work includes:
Engine swaps (4 currently queued)
Cab-off jobs
Electrical diagnostics & wiring harness work
Installing instrumentation
Welding & fabrication
Tire rotations & oil changes
General mechanical repair
(Note:
Internal transmission work is not performed.)
Each day is different — one day you may weld, the next you may remove and replace an engine.
Daily Responsibilities
Report to garage and receive work ticket from Team Lead
Retrieve vehicle from lot
Bring vehicle into garage and lift it
Perform assigned mechanical work
Complete repairs and move to next work ticket
Work volume varies depending on workload.
Travel Requirements
May travel with engineering team supporting test vehicles
Locations may include:
Colorado, Florida, Texas, California
Travel fully expensed
Travel frequency varies based on rotation (typically 3–4 times per year, could be more)
Required Qualifications
2-Year Technical Degree (Example: UNOH, Baker College)
8+ years of experience (Manager flexible)
Open to strong recent grads with strong diesel background
Diesel engine repair experience
Diagnostic troubleshooting experience
Ability to work well on a team
Must provide own basic hand tools & toolbox
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Welding & fabrication experience (strong bonus)
ASE certification
Chauffeur's license (due to heavier trucks)

Diesel & Certification
This role is in the Diesel Garage
Hands-on, mechanical environment
Team-based setting
Strong potential for extension or direct hire
