    Description

    As a key member of our team, you will contribute to supporting the team in applying mathematical models and advanced tools to business or financial data, including model results. Your efforts will enable the team to analyze business performance, solve inquiries, and make informed decisions. Work may involve developing models or prototypes to achieve these goals, but is not the central focus of the role.

    The Financial Data Scientist Senior Associate (Hybrid) position offers flexibility for you to structure your day as you see fit, while collaborating with like-minded individuals who are passionate about delivering excellent results:

    • Collaborate on processing and analyzing large amounts of data efficiently using advanced financial engineering tools and techniques. Understand customer requirements for a financial analysis or model.
    • Perform financial analysis or forecasting, including scenarios, sensitivity analysis, stress testing, and attribution analysis.
    • Execute models and interpret results. Translate analysis results into clear conclusions for customers.
    • Work closely with model creators to evaluate new models, propose changes to existing ones, or analyze model performance data.
    • Conduct data and systems analysis, validation, and regression testing.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Minimum Required Experience: 2 years
    • Skills:
      • Gathering accurate information to explain concepts and address critical questions
      • Collaborating with individuals from various backgrounds effectively and respectfully towards common goals
      • Operational Excellence and overseeing operations
      • Proficiency in visualizing information through charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with software like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
      • Programming skills, including coding, debugging, and using relevant languages
      • Risk Assessment and Management, including control evaluation and design, impact assessments, identifying gaps, and risk mitigation
      • Statistical expertise, hypothesis testing, experimental design, and regression analysis
      • Identifying causes of operational errors and implementing corrective measures
      • Presentation skills to deliver engaging and understandable information to audiences
      • Effective communication in writing or verbally, copywriting, planning, and distributing communication
      • Offering Business Insight through advice, business model design, market insights interpretation, and forecasting
      • Ability to conceptualize ideas as systems and analyze inputs, outputs, and processes
    • Tools:
      • Proficiency in SAS
      • Proficiency in SQL
      • Experience with SharePoint
      • Proficiency in Tableau
      • Proficiency in Excel
      • Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, development, and networking platforms
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams
      • Proficiency in R Language Programming
      • Proficiency in Python object-oriented programming
    • Desired Experiences:
      • Educational or work background in economics, finance, or statistics preferred
      • CFA certification or in the process of obtaining it is a plus
      • In-depth knowledge of the mortgage market, including capital markets, preferred
      • Independent thinker and intellectually curious
      • Proficiency in computer programming applications such as python, R, SAS, SQL, or other statistical software
      • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other business intelligence tools
      • Familiarity with relational databases and SDLC
      • Engagement with stakeholders to design reports and analytical tools for data-driven decision-making
      • Experience in forecasting, stress testing, and/or capital analysis
